What is a security guard?
A security guard is a trained, uniformed professional employed by a licensed agency to protect people, property, and assets — controlling access, patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance, deterring theft, and responding to incidents. In India, guards may only be deployed through a PSARA-licensed agency like CISS; a freelancer or unlicensed "watchman supplier" leaves you legally exposed.
What does a security guard actually do?

What is PSARA and why does it matter?
The Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 is the law that licenses every private security agency in India. A PSARA licence means the agency's guards are police-verified, trained to prescribed syllabus, and paid statutory wages.
