Diwali stocks leave by the dock, not the wall
Festive godowns fill in October and pilferage moves with them. Trucks sealed without counts, yards unwatched at night, returns inward unchecked. Dock discipline stops more loss than taller walls.
Every October the same scene repeats at transport nagars. Cartons to the ceiling, extra contract loaders, night dispatch to meet festival sales. Stock value doubles while the guard roster stays flat. By Diwali, shortage notes arrive with the cheer.
Warehouse loss is rarely a wall broken at midnight. It is eleven pallets leaving against a twelve pallet invoice, processed with a smile.
Where festive loss enters
Dispatch rush. The dock supervisor signs while the loader stacks, nobody counts the last layer. Seal skipped because the truck must make the cutoff. Returns inward walking past the gate without condition notes. Night yard with one torch and three open sides.
Silwani wheat, festive electronics, pharma cartons. Different goods, same gap. Movement without reconciliation.
Four dock controls that hold
Count against papers before seal. Guard counts cartons with the challan in hand, calls discrepancies before the vehicle is sealed. Not after it leaves.
Seal number on paper plus photo. Seal goes on, number goes on the challan, photo goes to the group. Receipt side matches before unloading.
Yard rounds with seal checks. Open storage, containers, trailers. Night rounds check seals and locks, signed live, not at shift end.
Returns gate. Inward returns get quantity and condition notes at the gate. Unrecorded removals hide inside return trips.
| Gap | Control | Who owns it |
|---|---|---|
| Short loading | Count vs challan | Dock guard plus dispatch |
| Unsealed truck | Seal plus photo | Gate |
| Night yard lift | Irregular rounds | Yard watchman |
| Returns leakage | Condition inward notes | Returns gate |
The monthly review buyers skip
Once a month, sit with gate passes against stock audit. Which dock produced gaps. Which shift. Which transporter. Adjust coverage to findings instead of adding guards by mood. Continuous CCTV from a control room is a separate buy from gate guarding. Price it separately if you need it.

Questions buyers ask us
How many guards does a godown need for Diwali?
Count docks, gates, and yard points separately. Most mid godowns need dock plus yard at day and yard plus gate at night, with supervisor checks on dispatch peaks.
Should we seal every truck?
Yes for loaded dispatches. Note seal number on the challan, photograph it, and reconcile at receipt. Unsealed trucks invite dispute.
Do you provide transit escort?
Yes for high value consignments on scheduled routes, coordinated with your transporter and dispatch team.
